To keep up with modern problems, bees needed a better hive. So we made it. The BeePak™ hive has been made with the original Langstroth design at its core, but with new and robust materials. It creates the perfect environment for your bees to live, thrive and produce more delicious, golden honey.

Bee Pak Composite hive –

These hives were designed in South Africa and work on the basis of the most proficient internal climate control allowing the worker bees the time and energy to focus on what they do best: foraging and pollination.

The Bee Pak won the R1m prize for the Most Innovative product in 2013 via the magazine Popular Mechanics, RSA.

  • They come with plastic frames with no wire and now wax strips
  • They have locks for holding the brood and super chamber together and the lid tight
  • It comes with a lid feeder hole for jar feeders
  • It travels well but there’s an extra fee for this for delivery
  • It is not the FlowHive which is an Australian

Honey bees are under extreme pressure. Beekeepers in the US have been losing and then replacing an average of 40% of their honey bee colonies every year since 2010, a rate that is probably unsustainable and would be unacceptable in other kinds of husbandry. The biggest contributor to this decline is viruses spread by a parasite, Varroa Destructor. But this isn’t a natural situation.
